  Your day starts early with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, usually around 7:30 AM. From there, you’ll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle, and the journey to Ait Benhaddou takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on the road conditions. Along the way, you will pass through the High Atlas Mountains, where you can enjoy scenic views of the valleys and mountain peaks.

• first stop Tizi n’Tichka Pass

During the drive, you’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which sits at 2,260 meters (7,410 feet) above sea level. This mountain pass is one of the highest in Morocco, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. It’s a perfect spot for photos, so don’t forget your camera!

• Arrival Ait Benhaddou

Once you arrive in Ait Benhaddou, you’ll be amazed by the stunning sight of this ancient fortified village made of mud-brick buildings. Your guide will take you on a walking tour of the ksar, explaining its history, architecture, and its role in Moroccan culture. You’ll walk through narrow streets, pass by old houses, and explore the famous kasbah (fortress), which was once an important stop for caravans.

• Exploring the village

As you explore, you’ll see the beautiful, red clay buildings that are characteristic of the region’s architecture. You may also climb to the top of the hill for a spectacular view of the village and the surrounding desert landscape. The views from the top are breathtaking and offer great photo opportunities.

• Return Journey

After lunch and some free time to shop or relax, you’ll begin the journey back to Marrakech. The return trip takes about 3.5 to 4 hours, and you’ll likely arrive in Marrakech by the late afternoon or early evening, around 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
